Cool poem ...this is appreciation not plagiarism hats off to Tara :)

I slide myself into you,
so soft so warm,
I feel your tongue upon my skin
keeping me from harm
I feel so lucky, love at first site.
I tried to restrain myself
when I saw you on that night
we mesh so well

I love being in you
At first you were so tight
As I moved in side of you
and you on me
I knew we were meant to be
I am so glad I found you
If people only knew
This is not a dirty poem
Its about a damn SHOE!

Success story or is it the Great Fall of China ??

China will probably overtake Germany to become the world's largest exporter
though its exports in 2009 had fallen 16 percent from a year earlier, according
to figures released Sunday by the General Administration of Customs (GAC).
But Chinese experts and officials said the country was far from being a
real trade power if measured by exports structure, technological innovation and
industry competitiveness.
GAC figures showed China's monthly exports in December 2009 were worth
130.7 billion U.S. dollars, up 17.7 percent from a year earlier. It was the
first rise since November 2008, when the country's exports contracted 2.2
percent year on year after sluggish overseas demand crippled China's export
engine.
In total, GAC figures showed that China's exports in 2009 stood at 1.2
trillion U.S. dollars, down 16 percent from 2008.
Germany, which had been since 2002 holding the title as the world's
largest exporter, didn't unveil its export value in 2009 yet.
But BGA, the Federation of German Wholesale and Foreign Trade, had
forecast that Germany's exports in 2009 might fall 18 percent to 816 billion
euros (about 1.18 trillion U.S. dollars).
"The prospect that China will overtake Germany to become top global
exporter only means that China has indeed become a large trading country in
terms of exporting scale," said Zhao Jinping, a researcher with the Development
Research Center of the State Council (cabinet).
"But in terms of the structure of exports, technological innovation and
industry competitiveness, China is far from being eligible for the title of
'trade power'," he told Xinhua.
According to Zhao, China's exports had changed from labor-intensive
products in the 1990s to current technology-intensive products, and electrical
and electronic products as well as high-tech products have become a most
important part of China's exports.
But China's technology-intensive exports fell in the category of
processing and assembling trade. About 83 percent of its high-tech exports and
75 percent of electronic exports were made by foreign-funded enterprises, Zhao
said.
He said German enterprises put more emphasis on technology, branding,
quality and services, which generated higher added-value.
Zhao said a full recovery of China's trade might take another several
years. China should promote exports of high value-added products through
branding and technological innovation, he added.
Zhong Shan, vice minister of commerce, agreed that China was not a strong
trade power. "China should adjust the product structure and transform its growth
pattern," he said.
In December 2009, China's imports hit record monthly high to reach 112.3
billion U.S. dollars, up 55.9 percent from the same period of 2008, according to
the GAC.
The Fujian-based Industrial Securities said in a research note Sunday
that the jump of December's imports resulted from strong domestic demand for
commodities and mechanical equipment that were necessary in construction of
infrastructure projects and property.
Imports of raw materials that were used in manufacturing trade also rose
significantly, it said.
According to the GAC, China's imports of iron ore in 2009 rose 41.6
percent from a year earlier to 630 million tonnes, at an average price of 79.9
U.S. dollars per tonne.
In 2009, the economy imported 200 million tonnes of crude oil, up 13.9
percent from 2008, at an average price of 438 U.S. dollars per tonne.
The country's imports in 2009 stood at 1.01 trillion U.S. dollars, down
11.2 percent from a year earlier, said the GAC.
In December 2009, China's foreign trade amounted to 243 billion U.S.
dollars, which represented a year-on-year increase of 32.7 percent and a
month-to-month rise of 16.7 percent.
In total, China's foreign trade in 2009 dropped 13.9 percent from a year
earlier to 2.21 trillion U.S. dollars and its trade surplus last year slid 34.2
percent year on year to 196.1 billion U.S. dollars.
According to the GAC, the European Union (EU) continued to be China's
biggest trading partner in 2009, with two-way trade totaling 364.1 billion U.S.
dollars, down 14.5 percent from a year earlier.
Trade between China and the United States, the country's second biggest
trade partner, fell 10.6 percent to 298.3 billion U.S. dollars.
Japan remained China's No. 3 trade partner with bilateral trade totaling
228.9 billion U.S. dollars, down 14.2 percent from 2008, according to the GAC.

Jamia$cope

Yes , I woke up in the morning with a desire to help the world, dont be alarmed ! this happens with me quit often mostly the desire is gone by the time I get out bed and sometimes (very rarely !) it lasts uptil the time I have my morning tea , infact I think the whole point of the morning tea or coffee is to make idealistic selfless thoughts vanish or in toher words to ..."wake up". Anyways enough with the rambling , this time I got an idea ,an idea to help out my juniors infact all my college mates say hello to Jamia$cope.
This is not a big thing and it certainly wont make me any money , but it might be really helpful to my juniors . Out of my four years in engineering college , 90% of time was spent on collecting notes , photocopying previosu papers , photocopying "relevant " pages form"relevant" textbooks you get the drift right ? yes , in short for building my exam time inventory. So, I thought why not provide my juniors  with this inventory .....its gonna be available 24 hours , its gonna be there for everybody and its gonna be free!! . So ya thats the idea of Jamia$cope , it will allow students to download previous years papers ,previous year notes ,"relevant " ebooks the real cool thing is.....that seniors will rate the book ,the papers and everything . If you are an engg. student at Jamia you know the value when a senior says -"buy that book and study paper is gonna come from there " or look up previosu years papers wahi repeat hota hai " ....so on . But as they say- there is no point in having the party , if its not cool enough . Yup,so its definately gonna be cool .The coolest thing is you are gonna login with your jamiarollno. so only jamia students allowed AND STRICTLY NO ADS!!.
I have absolutely no werb designing experience I looked up some tutorials .....and there are some cool sites out there like weebly which helps one design their own websites and there is the immense problem of where to store that huge chunk of data all the papers and stuff .pus its gotta be linked up proper so have to learn php i guess ddon really know in that area but hey if a crow can learn to shit on a human i can learn php (it doesnt make sense to me either !) .
Anyways lets see if this idea lasts beyond the evening tea , maybe it will cuz this time I am doing it for all the juniors and I have no profit in this , feels good inside !

While I am at it .....

A peach will always be a peach
don`t try to change it into an apple
Instead nurture the peach and it may
grow to be better than the apple you wanted .

Inspiring lines from Lord of the rings

Ho! Ho! Ho! to the bottle I go
To heal my heart and drown my woe
Rain may fall and wind may blow
And many miles be still to go
But under a tall tree I will lie
and let the clouds go sailing by

One more poem ....from Udaan

Chhoti-chhoti chhitrayi yaadein
Bichhi hui hain lamhon ki lawn par.
Nange
pair unpar chalte-chalte
Itni door chale aaye
Ki ab bhool gaye hain

Joote kahan utaare the.

Aedi komal thi, jab aaye the.
Thodi si
naazuk hai abhi bhi.
Aur nazuk hi rahegi
In khatti-meethi yaadon ki shararat
Jab tak inhe gudgudati rahe.

Sach, bhool gaye hain
Ki
joote kahan utaare the.
Par lagta hai,
Ab unki zaroorat nahin."

Poem...from the film UDAAN

Jo lehron se aage nazar dekh
paati toh tum jaan lete main kya sochta hoon,

Wo aawaz tumko bhi
jo bhed jaati toh tum jaan lete main kya sochta hoon.

Zid ka tumhare jo
parda sarakta toh khidkiyon se aage bhi tum dekh paate,

Aankhon se aadaton
ki jo palken hatate toh tum jaan lete main kya sochta hoon.

Meri tarah khud par hota zara bharosa toh kuchh door
tum bhi saath-saath aate,

Rang meri aankhon ka baant-te zara sa toh kuchh door
tum bhi saath-saath aate,

Nasha aasmaan ka jo choomta tumhe bhi, hasraten
tumhari naya janm paatin,

Khud doosre janam mein meri udaan chhoone kuchh door
tum bhi saath-saath aate.

Lets create

Imagine how cool it would be if we could have a laptop the size of our spectacles ? ......Imagine a world where everything and everyone is interconnected and everyone helps everyone else . The fastgrowing interconnected apps available on the wroldwide web have already helped people come together . A person living in Brazil can have friends in japan , sweden, slovakia .....infact even to some person who is a part of a  research group in antartica and all these people can interact on a daily basis , they can chat ,share data and even see each other via video , Today we have communication systems that are unaffected by snow ,hail and storm . You may ask me what is amazing in this infact its all passe....but I am one of those weird people who still get amazed by the idea of the heating a metal filament to light our homes .
if you are a housemaker or have ever managed the inventory of supplies you know how difficult it is , now imagine a friend who helps you manage this ,you just give the initial inputs and it will tell you what vegetables you have , how many eggs and how much milk ? .....now imagine it will also tell you about the various recipes available ....it may even turn your electric induction cooking pan and chimney while you are cutting the vegetables . Now imagine all these facilities for free !!
If you are in the postal department ,imagine intelligent stamps that will tell you about the position of a package and lets you interact with the person handling the delivery .
The possibilities are unlimited and its get more amazing every time.
Just IMAGINE .....pls do !

Talk by Mr. Chetan Bhagat at Symbiosis (Pune)

Good morning everyone and thank you for giving this chance to speak to you. This day is about you. You, who have come to this college, leaving the comfort of your homes (or in some cases discomfort), to become something in your life. I am sure you are excited. There are few days in human life when one is truly elated. The first day in college is one of them. When you were getting ready today, you felt a tingling in your stomach. What would the auditorium be like, what would the
teachers be like, who are my new classmates – there is so much to
be curious about. I call this excitement, the spark within you that makes you
feel truly alive today. Today i am going to talk about keeping the spark
shining. Or to put it another way how to be happy most, if not all the time.
Where do these sparks start? I think we are born with them. My 3-year old twin boys have a million sparks. Small little spiderman toy can make them jump on the bed. They get thrills from creaky swings in the park. A story from daddy gets excited. They do a daily countdown for birthday party- several months in advance – just for the day they will cut their own birthday cake.

I see students like you, and i still see some sparks. But when i see older people, the spark is difficult to find. That means as we age, the spark fades. People whose spark has faded too much are dull, dejected, aimless and bitter. Remember Kareena in the first half of Jab Je Met Vs second half? That is what happens when the spark is lost. So how to save the spark?

Imagine the spark to be a lamp’s flame. The first aspect is nurturing – to give your spark the fuel, continuously. The second is to guard against storms. To nurture always have goals. It is human nature to strive, improve and achieve full potential. Infact, that is success. It is what is possible for you. It
isn’t any external measure – a certain cost to company pays package a particular car or house.

Most of us are from middle class families. To us, having material landmarks is success and rightly so. When you have grown up where money constrains force everyday choices, financial freedom is a big achievement. But it isn’t the purpose of life. If that was the case, Mr. Ambani would not show up for work. Shah Rukh Khan would stay at home and not dance anymore. Steve jobs won’t be working to
make a better iphone, as he sold pixar for billions of dollars already. Why do they do it? What makes them come to work everyday? They do it because it makes them happy. They do it because it makes them feel alive. Just better from current levels feels good. If you study hard, you can improve your rank. If you make an effort to interact with people, you will do better in interviews. If you
practice, your cricket will get better. You may also know that you cannot become tendulkar, yet. But you can get to the next level. Striving for that next level is important.

Nature designed with a random set of genes and circumstances in which we are born. To be happy, we have to accept it and make the most of nature’s design. Are you?
Goals will help you do that. I must add, don’t just have career or academic
goals. Set goals to give you a balanced successful life. I use the word balanced
before successful. Balanced means ensuring your health, relationships, mental
peace are all in good order.

There is no point of getting a promotion on the day of your breakup. There is no fun in
driving a car if your back hurts. Shopping is not enjoyable if you mind is full
of tensions.

You must have read some quotes – Life is a tough race, it is a marathon or whatever. No, from what i have seen so far, life is one of those races in nursery school, where you have to run with a marble in a spoon kept in your mouth. If the marble falls, there is no point coming first. Same with life, where health and relationships are the marble. Your striving is only worth it if there is harmony
in your life. Else, you may achieve the success, but this spark, this feeling of being excited and alive, will start to die.

One last thing about nurturing the spark – don’t take life seriously. One of my yoga teachers used to make students laugh during classes. One of the student asked him if these jokes would take away from the yoga practice. The teacher said – don’t be serious, be sincere. This quote has defined my work ever since. Whether its my writing, my goal, my relationships or any of my goals. I get thousands of opinions on my writing everyday. There is heaps of praise, there is intense criticism. If i take it all seriously, how will i write? Or rather, how will i live? Life is not to be taken seriously, as we are really temporary here. We are like a pre-paid card with limited validity. If we are lucky, we may last another
50 years. And 50 years is just 2500 weekends. Do we really need to ger so worked up? Its ok, bunk a few classes, goof upa few interviews, fall in love. We are people, not programmed devices.

I’ve told you three things-reasonable goals, balance and not taking it too seriously that will nurture the spark. However, there are four storms in life that will threaten to completely put out the flame. These must be guarded against. These are disappointment, frustration, unfairness and loneliness of
purpose.

Disappointment will come when your effort does not give you the expected return. If things don’t go as planned or if you face failure. Failure is extremely difficult to handle, but those that do come out stronger. What did this failure teach me? Is the question you will need to ask. You will feel miserable. You will want to quit, like I wanted to when nine publishers rejected my first book. Some IITians kill themselves over low grades – how silly is that? But that is how much failure can hurt you. But
it’s life challenges could always be overcome, they would cease to be a challenge. And remember – if you are failing at something that means you are at your limit or potential. And that’s where you want to be.

Disappointment’s cousin in frustration, the second storm. Have you ever been frustrated? It happens when things are struck. This is especially relevant in India. From traffic jams to getting job you deserve, sometimes things take so long that you don’t know if you chose the right goal. After books, I set the goal of writing for Bollywood, as I thought they needed writers. I am called extremely lucky, but it tool me five years to get close to a release. Frustration saps excitement, and turns your initial energy into something negative, making you a better person. How did i deal with it? A realistic assessment of the time involved – movies take a long time to make even though they are watched quickly, seeking a certain enjoyment in the process rather than the end result – at least I was learning how to write scripts, having a side plan – I had my third book to write and even something as simple as pleasurable distractions in your life - friends, food, travel can help you overcome it. Remember, nothing is to be taken seriously. Frustration is a sign somewhere you took it too seriously.

Unfairness – this is the hardest to deal with, but unfortunately that is how our country works. People with connections, rich dads, beautiful faces, pedigree find it easier to make it – not just in Bollywood, but everywhere. And sometimes it is just plain luck. There are so few opportunities in India, so many stars need to be aligned for you to make it happen. Merit and hard work is not always linked to achievement in the short term, but the long term correlation is high, and ultimately things do work out. But realize, there will be some people luckier than you. In fact, to have an opportunity to go to college and understand this speech in English means you are pretty damn lucky by Indian standards. Let’s be grateful for what we have and get the strength to accept what we don,t. I have so much love from
my readers that other writers cannot even imagine it. However, I don’t get literary praise. It’s ok. I don’t look like Aishwarya Rai, but I have two boys who i think more beautiful than her. It’s ok. Don’t let unfairness kill your spark.

Finally, the last point that can kill your spark is isolation. As you grow older you will realize you are unique. When you are little, all kids want ice cream and spiderman. As you grow older to college, you still are a lot like your friends. But ten years later and you realize you are unique. What you want, what you believe in, what makes you feel, may be different from even the people closest
to you. This can create conflict as your goals may not match with others. And you may drop some of them. Basketball captains in college invariably stop playing basketball by the time they have their second child. They give up something that meant so much to them. They do it for their family. But in doing that, the spark dies. Never, ever make that compromise. Love yourself first, and then others.

There you go. I’ve told you the four thunderstorms - disappointment, frustration, unfairness and isolation. You cannot avoid them, as like the monsoon they will come into your life at regular intervals. You just need to keep the raincoat handy to not let the spark die.

I welcome you again to the most wonderful years of your life. If someone gave me the choice to go back in time, I will surely choose college. But I also hope that ten years later as well, your eyes will shine the same way as they do today. That you will keep the spark alive, not only through college, but through the next 2,500 weekends. And i hope not just you, but my whole country will keep that spark alive, as we really need it now more than any moment in history. And ther is something col about saying – I come from the land of billion sparks.’

Thanks

Letter from Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam

When it comes to burning social issues like  those related to women, dowry, girl child! and others, we make loud drawing room protestations and continue to do the reverse at home. Our excuse? 'It's the
whole system which has to change, how will it matter if I alone forego my sons' rights to a dowry.' So who's going to change the system?
What does a system consist of? Very conveniently for us it consists of our neighbours, other households, other cities, other communities and the government. But definitely not me and YOU. When it comes to us actually making a positive contribution to the system we lock ourselves along with our families into a safe cocoon and look into the distance at countries far away and wait for a Mr.Clean to come along & work miracles for us with a majestic sweep of his hand or we leave the
country and run away.
Like lazy cowards hounded by our fears we run to America to bask in their glory and praise their system. When New York becomes insecure we run to England . When England experiences unemployment, we take the next flight out to the Gulf. When the Gulf is war struck, we demand to be
rescued and brought home by the Indian government. Everybody is out to abuse and rape the country. Nobody thinks of feeding the system. Our conscience is mortgaged to money.
Dear Indians, The article is highly thought inductive, calls for a great deal of introspection and pricks one's conscience too….. I am echoing J. F. Kennedy's words to his fellow Americans to relate to
Indians…..
'ASK WHAT WE CAN DO FOR INDIA AND DO WHAT HAS TO BE DONE TO MAKE
INDIA WHAT AMERICA AND OTHER WESTERN COUNTRIES ARE TODAY'
Lets do what India needs from us.
Thank you,
Dr. Abdul Kalam
